When the prostate becomes enlarged for age, the term used is adenoma

The prostate is a gland that produces together with the seminal vesicles over 90% of the liquid part of the seminal fluid.

This gland with age tends physiologically to swell and to give a whole series of disorders to urination.

In medicine, when a gland tends to swell, the term used is adenoma, which is why for the enlargement of the prostate we can find this term in place of the other that is more known and correct than  benign prostatic hyperplasia
